I am going to go out on a limb and say that most people want to create healthier habits than the ones they currently have. I know I do. And it is so good to have the goal of creating healthy habits! But what about healthy habits during a stressful period of time, like during wedding planning? I have compiled some helpful tips so you can keep up your healthy habits while you plan your wedding!
Get enough sleep.
Sleep is a huge factor that affects your health. Having a busy lifestyle can really do some damage to your sleep schedule, so make sure you’re getting a healthy amount of sleep for your age and activity level. Getting too little sleep can affect your metabolism and actually contribute to weight gain. Sleeping enough will also help you to be clear-minded when making big decisions.
Stay hydrated.
There are many ways that drinking water affects our health! Firstly, replacing high-calorie drinks with water can help control calorie and sugar intake. A lot of high-calorie drinks are full of empty calories, whereas water also helps you burn more calories! Our bodies need water to perform digestion. Drinking water before eating a meal can also help to trigger feeling full faster. So making sure to drink enough water can help to prevent long-term weight gain (not to mention all the other health benefits). There is also proof that drinking enough water will help you keep energy levels up. You’ll need that energy for wedding planning!
Unplug.
You might need to be tied to your phone making appointments and plans for your wedding. All of this screen time can be draining and distracting from important things in your life. Pick a day or even a few hours to unplug and enjoy the real world. Maybe there’s a hike you’ve been meaning to try or you simply want to spend time with friends and family. Making that time will be beneficial to you and your loved ones.
Go on a date.
You already know you’re going to spend forever with this person once you are married. So go on a date. Show off your ring. Tell your waiter you just got engaged. Tell your uber driver. Tell your landlord. Tell anyone who will listen. Just soak up the fact that you are ENGAGED. Because it won’t last. The wedding plans will get overwhelming and everything will be hectic with everyday things and wedding things. You are going to wish you could go back to that dreamy head state of just. being. engaged. The wedding will happen, the planning will get done, so just take some time and reflect on this fleeting fairytale period of your life.
